Your spring cleaning guide is here! Just as the Earth has its cycles of life, so do we. Let’s embrace the opportunity to connect with the Earth’s patterns of change. As the flowers bloom and the days grow longer, it’s time to embrace the spirit of renewal with some Living In Harmony spring cleaning do’s, don’ts, and tips to revitalize your harmonious home!
**Do’s**
1. Let The Light In
Open up your blinds and windows to let the sunlight flood into your home. There’s nothing quite like the crisp morning air of spring to invigorate your space and clear out that dust.
2. Closet Clean Out
Take advantage of the seasonal change to reassess your wardrobe. Bid farewell to those items you haven’t worn all winter and make your lighter clothing more accessible. Before you begin, have some donation bags ready to fill up.
3. Pantry Purge
Clear out your fridge and pantry, discarding any expired items and wiping down surfaces. Start thinking about what recipes you’ve been wanting to try and add those ingredients to your pantry. Decanting dry goods into glass jars is my kind of therapy.
4. Family Involvement
Get the whole family involved by creating a cleaning schedule or to-do list that everyone can contribute to. It’s a great way to teach kids responsibility and make cleaning a collaborative effort. Little Eloise naturally loves to get involved. Her main motivator is to be “just like Cinderella”.
5. Garage and Storage Organization
I know, I know… not the most fun, but decluttering your garage and storage areas can be incredibly satisfying, especially with a positive outlook. Consider up-leveling your organization system with shelves, bins, labels or hooks. I love these ones from Amazon!
**Don’ts**
1. Cluttered Surfaces
Resist the temptation to let clutter accumulate on your surfaces and counters. Clear away unnecessary items and give your space room to breathe. Sorry to say it, but that house plant is not going to recover… just let it go 😉
2. Rush the Process
Spring cleaning isn’t something that can be completed in a single day. Take your time and integrate cleaning tasks into your daily routine for a more manageable approach.
3. Go It Alone
Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Call in the aunties, grandparents or even hired professionals! Tackling cleaning tasks together (or while your kiddos are having quality time with grandma), can make the process more enjoyable and efficient.
I couldn’t be more excited for you to breathe new life into your home and create a space that feels fresh, organized, and full of positive energy.
